We believe that students learn best when their hands are on the keyboard, interacting with Cloud software, and solving problems. Consequently, our courses consist of short 3 to 4-minute videos separated by interactive exercises. Videos teach students the concepts necessary to solve the following exercises. A course is intended to cover a similar amount of material as a 4-hour workshop.
A typical Cloud course consists of:
Four chapters
16 lessons
48 exercises
Chapters consist of:
4 lessons
12 exercises
Lessons consist of the following exercise types in the following order:
A conceptual video
3-4 exercises
At least 2 exercises per lesson should be a Cloud Exercise
We think of a lesson as the basic unit of a course. A lesson must have at least one clear learning objective. That learning objective should then be tested in the associated exercises.
A note on Cloud Exercises
DataCamp cloud courses use a unique Cloud Exercise type. This is a relatively new type of exercise, and its UI may be updated.
Regardless, the core technology of a Cloud Exercise remains the same: In cloud exercises, learners are given access to a Cloud service account. The exercise will ask learners to complete a task in this Cloud account and culminates with a multiple choice (or a fill in the blank) question.
