Question:

While writing my course, I realize I’m switching between phrases like “we’ll be doing” and “you’ll be doing”, what is DataCamp’s preferred pronoun?

Answer:

Per DataCamp best practices, we ask that you use “we” during video exercises, as you’ll be walking through the slides with the students. Furthermore, this is in line with the default final slide, which says “let’s practice”. For the coding exercises, we ask that you switch to “you”, as the students will be going through those on their own.

Please ensure you are consistent for each portion of the course, as switching between the two can be confusing to learners.
